Samsung Galaxy SL with Android 2.2 Reviewed

The Blue Man @ Nuffnang Malaysia gave me a chance to review this gadget Samsung Galaxy SL I9003. It is different from Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with Super Clear LCD Screen instead of the AMOLED Screen. Initially I mistakenly thought that this is Samsung Galaxy S because they look almost the same.

LinkWell for me Samsung Galaxy SL is flatter but bigger than my Blackberry Bold. It is okay to hold in my hand, but might be too small for a lady to hold it tightly. Love the interface and quick OS thanks to Android Froyo 2.2. My friend played with it and feel that iPhone4 has faster interface~

Really impressed with its LCD Screen when watch Youtube with High Quality (HQ) It is really clear and vibrant. As for the typing, must thanks to the Swype Key + Big Screen for better typing accuracy.



As a photographer I prefer to have a mobile phone with nice camera feature. So far Samsung Galaxy SL camera perform quite well at day time. There is a bunch of mushrooms blooming nearby my housing area just after a rain. The downside of this camera is they dun have flash light. And dun have a camera button at the side.

So if you wanna camwhore, better learn and remember where is the camera button on the screen. Or use their smile detection photo snap function.

Video can be recorded in HD. No auto focus and seems like aperture was fixed. I can't do low light video recording cos there isn't any light assist. It is a phone, so I don't really expect much.


I like the macro photo of this mushroom. Although it looks pixelated with more noise I like its clearity. Remember to snap more photo just in case sometime it doesn't focused on the right spot when you do low level shooting like this. =)

I recorded lots of videos easily during my Sepang Gold Coast Trip. This is one of the close up shoot of the Soldier Crabs.


This is my successful attempt of creating a panorama+camwhore photo of Sepang Gold Coast during low tide. It is a bit hard because Samsung Galaxy SL don't have the camara button at the side and I was trying to remember where I should touch the camera button on the screen.

Although you can switch to front camera with lower pixels, I hope that Samsung Galaxy SL will add a camera button on it soon.

Samsung Galaxy SL is not the best phone, but this is one of the best smartphones that you should have now especially when you are a social media evangelist =)

1600 Pandas Flash Mob @ Perbadanan Putrajaya, Malaysia #1600Pandas

1600 Pandas @ Perbadanan Putrajaya Just came back from Putrajaya after paying a visit to the 1600 Pandas exhibited at Perbadanan Putrajaya . The pandas flash mob were supposed to last for two hours but around 11am++ the pandas were being kept back to the rack due to drizzling at the venue. Anyhow, I manage to get some photos for you guys (and myself) haha. I love this location because the pandas were being placed on the carpet grass right in front of the beautiful buildings in Putrajaya. Too bad that the weather wasn't sunny and the carpet grass became muddy after rain. Luckily I wore my Havaianas slipper or else I am in deep shit hahaha. Malaysia local celebrities Jeffrey Cheng 庄惟翔 and  TJ 东于哲 were spotted at Perbadanan Putrajaya doing photoshoot and quick interview with the media. Fun fun fun! After the  Tea-se Session with David DeCandia at Coffee Bean , both me and Jennifer went to the dog park in Desa ParkCity for a 1-on-1 photography workshop. I am glad that there are people who wanna learn photography from me and I am able to give guidance on this favourite topic. I am not graduate from Art School but reading photography magazines and practice everyday can definitely helps improve your photography skill.
