Fraud & Scam in Condominium/Apartment Malaysia: Gas Leakage

Image
Few days ago on a public holiday, there was this guy (as picture above) who knocked on our door and ask to check if there is any gas leakage .  It was my girlfriend who attend the door and she asked him to wait before I greet him again. The so called 'gas technician' showed us a working pass (I can't remember the company name) and asked again for letting him in to check if there is any gas leakage. I was hesitating and thinking if this is a kind of fraud and suddenly he asked,"Are you the house owner?" I said, "No". The 'Gas technician' then quickly say all-right-never-mind-and-just-leave. He looks really suspicious with what he was doing and the way he wear his clothes. I wonder if any of you have faced the same incident before recently? Above picture was captured by one of the resident of the same condo and he said that the guard has already received complaints and has already chased 4 "gas staff" away!! Obviously this

Image
Still remember the Maybank Fraud EmailS ? Today I receive ANOTHER One The so called "Protect yourself from identity theft" Some more the email is "maybank@support.com.my" The theft is pretending to be the "goodman" now.... So, again Please be reminded that Maybank will never send you email asking for confidential info. And this is not how Maybank prevent scam! Please don't click on it and simply share your personal info. I wonder how many people has been conned *again* Just be careful!

Maybank's Fraud eMail

Image
According to this fraud mail, Maybank is notifying me that they have recently suffered a DDos-Attack on one of their Online Banking server. For security reasons I must complete the next steps to verify the integrity of my Maybank account. If I fail to complete the verification in the next 24 hours my account will be suspended. It seems like at first you are logging in the true Maybank2U website to get the TAC (Transaction Authorization Code). Then you need to go to their so called "Secured Server" to submit the requested information. I was curious about it and check on their homepage but there isn't any announcement. So I choose to wait for my account to be "suspended" and this is what I found in my Mail Box later on. Another email from Maybank ! This time it mentioned that an increased number of merchants and ATMs in our country have experienced data compromises of payment cards used in their stores and at their ATMs, and that my funds may be at risk.

Congratz! You won! [2]

Still remember this? Congratz! You Won! Not long ago I saw a news reported It mentioned that a person was conned RM 5,000 because of this "lucky draw" event. They used the same technique to con him. First, you were told you can be a big winner if you opened a "lucky letter" with silver colour. All you need to do is to go to their office to do another "lucky draw"!! So this man did and there were more professional con man in there. As a result, without his notice his ATM/VISA card was swiped and RM 5,000 gone!! Atleast he get some cheap electronic device...? Just to tell everyone be very careful about this super lucky day. Please avoid those salesman/promoter around the Carefour in Bukit Jalil! Now the BAD company hire youngster below 18 years old to help them con people. Is there a law mentioned that youngster under 18 won't go to jail? And that's why they hire youngster to con people?? Sometimes it doesn't really means lucky for you. “天下绝对没白吃

Congratz! You won!

Today after work, went to the Carefour near Bukit Jalil to meet my friends. After I parked my car and walk along the road to Carefour. A young salesmen come and tell me to do a "lucky draw". First, he asked me to sign on the back of a sealed lucky draw paper. To prove that it is mine. Then, he told me if inside is green/yellow color, you get discount for some electronic devices. But what I found out is silver colour. So, I asked him what happen now. Then, the drama started. He start looks so "gan jiong" and told me that the silver color means you won some prizes and are eligible to go for a further lucky draw which might help you win a car! He called his boss and tell me all I need to do is to go to their office for second "lucky draw" session and to receive the price I won All I need to do is to take photo with the prizes and the people for posted on newspaper. I asked him to show me the prove then he showed me old newspaper about the winners. The funnies

Congratulations!! Or the other way round

My friend Seok Ling recently receive a notification letter from someone. And said that she could win USD $ 13,771,800.00 All you need to do is feel in your profile Especially your available Visa and its CVV/CCV code The thing that made me impressed is the way people tried to scam The letter was so real and well designed! Forgot to take picture of the mail as it is specially designed too! I would like to remind you all that be careful with what you are going to fill Usually CVV/CCV code will only be used during online transaction. We shouldn't let others people know even there is a form ask you to fill in the code. Nowadays there are a lot of ID stealers using others people MASTER/VISA Card to apply for Paypal account once they record down your card number and the CVV/CCV code. And then they will use it to buy things where you are the one paying for them! So be careful when you are paying using MASTER/VISA Card~
