The search for the nation’s first reality male pageant TV show by ntv7, The Perfect Gentleman, has finally come to an end. After going through rigorous recruitment and screening processes among 467 participants across the country, 16 good-looking and talented men have been selected for the show.



Malaysia’s beloved TV host, Hoong JiaHui, will host this prestigious reality show, which promises to be exciting with steaming hot contestants who are sure to steal the hearts of viewers.

A fierce battle is about to begin! The Top 16 crème de la crème aged between 19 to 41 years old who came from various states including Kedah, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka, Johor, Sarawak and Sabah were said to have plenty of surprises and talents which have wowed the judges during the auditions. The series of auditions held at four prominent locations in Malaysia – Johor Baru, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Kuching – were rolled out since April right up to May.

The Perfect Gentleman will air for 13 weeks, starting 17th July, every Sunday at 6 p.m., only on ntv7, the Home of Feel Good. Viewers will get to see how the contestants make their way through various stages in the reality show. Only six will make it to the finale, which will air LIVE on Sunday, 9th October where the viewers will witness Malaysia’s first ever ‘Perfect Gentleman’. To get things heated up, audience will also be treated with behind-the-scenes highlights of the Top 16, which will air every Monday to Friday at 9:59 p.m., for two minutes, beginning 11th July.

, Manager, Brand Management Group of ntv7 who unveiled the prestigious trophy at the press conference today said, “ntv7 has taken a bold initiative to hold the first male pageant TV show in Malaysia, which provides an opportunity for local men to showcase their talents and charm. The auditions, which were held in four prominent locations in Malaysia, successfully attracted 467 Malaysian men who dared to confidently express themselves and bring out the best in themselves.”

During the press conference, the Top 16 were again given a challenge to walk on the runway in front of invited guests and the media, wearing Lord Tailor’s latest collections. The Top 16 are listed, in no particular order, below:

A number of local and international celebrities will be invited to the show as judges and guests, which include renowned stylists, designers, and famous host during the preliminaries and finale. Contestants will also get personal coaching from these experienced personalities in terms of physical appearance, style, interpersonal communication, amongst others.

With so much experience to gather and lessons to learn, they will be stretched to the limits in a series of challenges and eliminations with different themes each week throughout 12 episodes to produce the final six contenders who will compete for the title during the grand finale. The themes include business planning, physical and mental challenges, social etiquette, styling, video photography, and others.

The winner and runner-ups of The Perfect Gentleman will not only walk away with bragging rights, but attractive prizes and cash worth over RM200,000. Unlike other reality contest, the winner of this show will also get a chance to hone his acting or hosting skills as ntv7’s TV personality.

There will also be two special awards – ‘Most Photogenic’ Award and ‘Most Popular’ Award given out in this show. The ‘Most Popular’ Award will be voted by the public via SMS votings, starting two weeks before the finale.
