Spring Garden KLCC 荔苑酒家: OktoberFest Food & Beer Pairing

Went to Spring Garden 荔苑 @ KLCC for a special food and beer pairing session organized by GAB OktoberFest in collaboration with Tai Thong Group of Restaurants. It is always my pleasure to be invited for a fine dining especially when there are really good food being served!



Spring Garden 荔苑酒家 @ KLCC is one of the restaurant of Tai Thong Group 大同



Here's a enclosed dining place where you can have a big round table that can fit 12 persons++ and the doors will block the noise from the crowd. Will be a good place for family member or a bunch of friends to hang out here.


Usually OktoberFest is associated with sausages, sauerkraut and beer, but with Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB)'s range of award-winning beers including Tiger, Guinness,, Heineken, Kilkenny, Strongbow and Paulaner, local cuisines such as the Chinese dishes are just as popular among the beer lovers.

Back for the 4th year running, the GAB Oktoberfest celebration this year sees GAB and Tai Thong Group of Restaurants collaborating to demonstrate the perfect food and beer pairing, through dishes cooked using GAB beers as ingredients, as well as the ideal beverages to complete the gastronomic experience.

Introducing the first dishes:
Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab & Chilled Pigeon with Tiger Beer
芋丝软壳蟹拌啤酒浸乳鸽
RM22/pax

The Pigeon meat was immersed in Tiger Beer overnight and you can taste the meat that is very well infused with Tiger beer. Its taste is complimented with the Soft Shell Crab.

The crispiness of the soft shell crab was magnified with the addition of yam slices =)


First time see an edible flower which is made of Mango fruit! Yummy~



Guinness Stout Shanghai Dumpling Served in Hot & Sour Seafood Soup
黑啤小笼包烩海鲜酸辣汤
RM25/pax

The sour and spicy soup tasted appetizing and the dumpling is the main host in this dishes. Make sure you eat the dumpling first before you have the soup. Because the taste will be strengthen after you took the dumpling.


I wish I can have more than one dumpling~



Baked Cod Fish with Tiger Beer
虎啤烧焗银鳕鱼
RM28/pax

Very fresh Cod Fish that has been cooked with Tiger Beer. You will like the taste and the food decoration! A slice of sweet pear is served beneath the cod fish. Highly recommended!


Pan Fried King prawn with Guinness Stout
黑狗啤煎大生虾
Seasonal Price



Mixture of onions and sweet sauce + Guinness will spice up your taste buds. Highly recommended too! I like seafood therefore I wished my prawn was bigger (although it is already big haha).*salivating*



Chilled H.K KaiLan topping with Crispy Squid
二松脆鱿冰镇芥兰

RM15/pax

The Crispy Squid is actually the squid floss that you always eat but this time it is deep fried to give the crunchiness. Tasted quite nice along with the deep fried KaiLan leaves. =) As for the KaiLan vegetables that's dipped inside Tiger beer+vinegar that manage to absorb the sour taste. It somehow tasted like the sauce provided when you eat 'Squid Water Spinach @ 鱿鱼蕹菜' at the Melaka Street. I wonder how chef manage to create this dishes. Interesting.


The Orange-Flower-Basket food decoration is so tempting that I wonder if it is for us to eat. Maybe the sour taste of the KaiLan dipping sauce originate from the orange too?


House Special Noodles with Shredded Chicken & Spicy Sauce
麻辣鸡丝捞面

A satisfying meal provided by Spring Garden to make sure what you had is enough and get prepared for the desserts~! I think I should get the spicy sauce to mixed with my Myojo Noodles to at least taste a bit like this noodles ;p


Chilled Lemongrass Jelly, Dragon Fruits, Heineken, Topping with Ice-Cream and Glutinous Dumpling with Guinness Stout
龙果香茅冻喜力啤雪糕拌黑啤罗米兹

The Lemongrass Jelly tasted just nice with the mixture of fruits and vanilla Ice-cream.
Small cubes of jellies with dragonfruit seeds. I wish I can have more~!


The bomb is the black colur glutinous dumpling that was baked with Guinness Stout. Remember don't judge the book by its cover, same goes to the glutinous dumpling~ Jason like it so much that I helped him asked for another one. Huhu~

Overall, it is really worth to spend your time and money for good food. Although the price could be a little expensive for me, but I won't be hesitate to visit here again whenver I wanna have tasty food at the center of the city.
