Interview with Alex Goot & Against The Current in Malaysia


So today I got the chance to meet Alex Goot and Against The Current at Bentley Music Showroom for an interview session. (Thanks Dragon and Skinny Buddies Entertainment for the invite) Well basically we, together with media friends got the chance to ask a lot questions about their music career. How they started and whether their family is opposing/supporting the idea of being musician on YouTube. Let's check out some photos shall we??

Here's Alex Goot, wearing a shirt name David wanna be batman. The first thing I remember is that he shared that he like the video that he collaborated with Kurt Schneider and Against The Current. Well actually that's one of my favourite video too. Love the cover for "Counting Stars" and "Beauty And A Beat".

Here are the members of Against The Current. Chrissy looks tiny and small while she standing between Will and Dan. (Just check out the photo at the end of the post haha) Will is kinda talkative while Dan was somehow distracted by all the guitars behind. Just imagine you are in a room which is full of your favourite stuff! Well, Against The Current did mentioned that they don't have the weekly video schedule on YouTube but glad that there are people who listen to their music and keep supporting them.

Both Alex Goot and Against The Current are lucky enough to have supportive parent that encourage them to pursue this music dream (If you are in Malaysia, sometimes it is hard to convince your parents to let you pursue music dream that easily. You can be a doctor, lawyer or dentist haha) Both of them agreed that nowadays to become a good musician on YouTube, you gotta have high quality videos beside having good vocals. Unless you are really really good then a webcam video with plain background might just be enough for you.

 Since both Alex and ATC just arrived at Malaysia not more than 4 hours. We didn't ask what are their favourite food in Malaysia. I should have just suggest them to try out durian at SS2 (Hopefully Skinny Buddies brought them there haha) Just imagine their reaction to our king of fruits. Since YouTube Malaysia is supporting this event, I guess JinnyBoyTV and other YouTubers will grab this chance to have them act in their upcoming YouTube videos.

I am happy that more YouTubers are planning Music Tour to Malaysia and without good organizers this won't be happen. I am looking forward for Alex Goot and Against The Current live performance this Sunday! I wish I can capture more awesome photos during their performance too!  Alex Goot and Against The Current Live In KL will be staged at the Bentley Music Auditorium in Wisma Bentley Music, Damansara Mutiara, at 4.00pm on 24th August 2014. Their Malaysian date is organized by upstart digital age concert promoters Skinny Buddies Entertainment, and is supported by YouTube Malaysia. You can always walk-in on the concert day itself!

1600 Pandas Flash Mob @ Perbadanan Putrajaya, Malaysia #1600Pandas

1600 Pandas @ Perbadanan Putrajaya Just came back from Putrajaya after paying a visit to the 1600 Pandas exhibited at Perbadanan Putrajaya . The pandas flash mob were supposed to last for two hours but around 11am++ the pandas were being kept back to the rack due to drizzling at the venue. Anyhow, I manage to get some photos for you guys (and myself) haha. I love this location because the pandas were being placed on the carpet grass right in front of the beautiful buildings in Putrajaya. Too bad that the weather wasn't sunny and the carpet grass became muddy after rain. Luckily I wore my Havaianas slipper or else I am in deep shit hahaha. Malaysia local celebrities Jeffrey Cheng 庄惟翔 and  TJ 东于哲 were spotted at Perbadanan Putrajaya doing photoshoot and quick interview with the media. Fun fun fun! After the  Tea-se Session with David DeCandia at Coffee Bean , both me and Jennifer went to the dog park in Desa ParkCity for a 1-on-1 photography workshop. I am glad that there are people who wanna learn photography from me and I am able to give guidance on this favourite topic. I am not graduate from Art School but reading photography magazines and practice everyday can definitely helps improve your photography skill. Desa ParkCity has a huge park and this is one of the place where you can bring your dog hang out here and to meet new friends.
