The Mix @ Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie

Was invited to have a fine dining session at The Mix in Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie with a few more food bloggers. Long time never do food review and I guess this is one rare time I am doing it. Dropped by Holiday Inn quite early because had something earlier day. Above is Napoleon's horse, which made him look much more taller.


Then went around Holiday Inn and found a cozy place just beside the hotel's swimming pool



Went to walk around and this is the seats outside The Mix



Had my first tattoo+razor hair cut on the same day too


The night has come and the spot light make the flowers continue to bloom


Drinks Available @ The Mix:
Peach Margarita, Caiprihna, Screwdriver, Cosmopolitan, Tequila Sunrise, Long Island Iced Tea and a glass of non-alcoholic Fruit Punch

These are the drinks that we had at The Mix. If you guys like to have special mixed cocktail then you must visit The Mix. Cos they have a very nice bartender that can mix all of these drinks. And its a talented she~!


Long Island Iced Tea, Lychee Mojito, Colourful Fruit Punch



Chicken Taliwang is traditional spiced chicken with spicy chicken floss
The chicken floss and chili spiced up the meat =)



Set of 6 Tapas:
Lamb Koftas
Prawn Yam Dumpling
Chicken Tikka
Coconut Battered Calamari
Spinach Pancake
Vietnamese Vegetable Wrap


They are all unique and my personal favourite is the Spinach Pancake. Simple yet nice. Maybe it is because after had other tapas as well that add on the flavours? But anyway, one of the tapas is a bit salty.

Then we have thin crust pizza

La Sambal Pizza: Malaysian style with ikan bilis sambal
if you like sambal, you will like this =)



Pizza de Chino combination of Roast duck, ear fungus and yam
Best served while still hot. First time had this kind of combination's pizza



Chef Rashid Hashim is the cook of the day. Who prepared all the foods for us and introduce all the dishes that was served.


Caribbean Chicken: Roasted vegetables and mashed young potatoes
Asparagus can really add on the flavour of the chicken meat. Esp after mixed with the sauces provided =)


Crusted Cod Fish
My most favourite dish among all. Maybe because I like fish a lot?
The fish is just at its exact tenderness when you bite it. You do know how it taste like when fish are overcooked right? Good that it didn't happen =D



Jalee Kay Kebab: Minced lamb on a barbeque skewer
I personally think the minced lamb is a bit too salty and too soft to stay still on the stick. Therefore need a spoon to hold it. Must mix with the kebab covered with spinach sauce so that it will neutralize the salty taste. I like the decoration though


Penne Spicy Spaghetti with home made Kam Hiong spices
I only had Kam Hiong Seafood fried rice before but never with spaghetti. Something fresh to try =) If you are cooking by yourself, make sure your spaghetti is not overcook then it will have the tenderness and you can chew them with the spice too.


Arabiata style Spaghetti with chillis, olives, and tomatoes
Doesn't really look nice because it looks really wet. But if you love onions you will like this.

Tiramisu
Everybody like this one


Carrot Cake
Tasted normal for me


Banana Toffee Pudding
The pudding very soft and not that sweet, that's why must mix with the toffee



Crème Brûlée
Can't really remember it's taste because I tried a 3 desserts first before this. Maybe taste buds has been paralyzed ;p


There is always music band that will perform in The Mix starting 9.30pm to 1.00am
Their performance are actually not bad =)



Here is the dining room we are in. The Mix is compose of two types of environment. If you wanna enjoy the food with quiet moment then come to this room. Or else, sit near the band and listen to their music. Just like a lounge bar. Bloggers who were there: Sidney, Choi Yen, QuaChee, Baby Esty and Yvonne
