Singapore Film Festival 2016 @ GSC Pavilion KL - '7 Letters' Gala Premiere

Since I've finish process the event photos taken during Singapore Film Festival 2016 @ GSC Pavilion KL I might as well use some photos to write a blog post on this rainy Friday night. Thanks Golden Screen Cinema for having me again in capturing the precious moments of a series of film festival events. It was a good chance to experience the difference in Japan, Europe, and now Singapore Film Festival too.

This time there is another photography team working at the same time hence I've make use of their studio flash to add in additional light at the photo booth. No harsh shadows for invited guests, yay =D Nice to meet you Chin Aik from Blink Eyes Production and George JS Gill photographer.

I've watched '7 LETTERS' and my favourite shorts are Jack Neo's 'That Girl', Royston Tan 陈子谦's 'Bunga Sayang' and Kelvin Tong's 'Grandma Positioning System'. Most of the stories will get Malaysian to feel related to since it has many scenes filmed in our country. Some of the short films are really artistic that I didn't fully understand it (maybe my arts-knowledge level not power enough) but I do recommend you guys to watch it if you love short stories being told in an artistic direction.

Japanese Film Festival 2015 x GSC Malaysia @ Pavilion KL

It was an honour that GSC Malaysia decided to hire me for my photography service again after their grand winning in Putra Brand Awards 2015. They like the photos so I was there to shoot for their Japanese Film Festival 2015 at GSC Pavilion KL the other day. It was my first Japanese Film Festival and I gotta say I really love the movie Kakekomi directed by Masato Harada. Always good to meet talented people who can create creative motion images =)

It was good to see Ms Koh Mei Lee and Linora Low in Kimono too. I heard it took them at least 30-45 minutes to wear it well and the color/design represent different age group. I really can't wait to visit Japan this coming November!!

As promised, after my humble Facebook Page reached 4,700 likes I am now revealing some BIGBANG WORLD TOUR MADE IN MALAYSIA concert photos that has never been disclosed. So I hope all BBVIPs treat this as a kind rewards and do feel free to share with your friends or make the photo your tablet/smartphone wallpaper. Tokyo Pastry @ Kota Damansara

After knowing both Robin Wong and Jackie Loi for long time, we have finally come out together for another photography outing (since Sekinchan travel photoshoot). Other friends who came along including Anna, Carmen, Calvin and Eunice. This time we choose to practice indoor photography with remote flash hence we decided to visit the Tokyo Pastry which located in Kota Damansara. The place is kinda small but they have nice ambience and the kitchen always make sure they serve their food in very presentable look.

Nikin D750 and Nikon Coolpix S6900 Selfie Camera launched in Malaysia

Exactly one month ago, Nikon Malaysia has finally launched their latest smallest and lightest Full Frame DSLR Nikon D750 and selfie compact camera Nikon Coolpix S6900. As a user of Nikon D800, I've always hoping that Nikon can come out with something lighter yet can deliver optimum quality photos and high performance. I've getting tired of carrying heavy DSLR and camera lenses around and glad that D750 is now in the market. The major difference between D750 and D800 is of course the lighter weight and tiltable screen. Lesser MegaPixels but more reason for me to shoot RAW photo with D750. Oh  yeah, D750 has built in WiFi too for easy posting to social channels.

Fun fun fun!

After the Tea-se Session with David DeCandia at Coffee Bean, both me and Jennifer went to the dog park in Desa ParkCity for a 1-on-1 photography workshop. I am glad that there are people who wanna learn photography from me and I am able to give guidance on this favourite topic. I am not graduate from Art School but reading photography magazines and practice everyday can definitely helps improve your photography skill.

Desa ParkCity has a huge park and this is one of the place where you can bring your dog hang out here and to meet new friends. Just continue scroll down and check out some other photos especially if you are an animal lover =) There are so many things you can do here!!

ZeeShan: "Look Mom! So many balloons!"

ZeeShan's two years old birthday celebration was full with balloons!

While in the midst of editing photos taken during RedMummy's family portrait session and celebrating ZeeShan's two years old birthday, I can't help but sharing one of my sneak peek photo here first!! I just love the happy looks of ZeeShan when he saw balloons everywhere on the bed.

Glad that I manage to capture this precious moment before it slip away ;')

Both me and RedMummy have been having this idea of doing a family portrait photoshoot since ZeeShan was still in his mommy's womb. However we were so busy and only recently we got the chance to meet up and have a happy photoshoot together in conjunction with ZeeShan's 2yo birthday. *time flies and 2 years gone*

One of my new year resolution for year 2014 is to capture more precious moments with Sky Arts Production and share them at this space. Thanks RedMummy for having me to photograph her super active baby's birthday and I shall get back to process the photo before RedMummy come to nag me hahaha.

[Note to self: I shall improve my Malay speaking to communicate better with kids especially ZeeShan!]

PS: How did RedMummy keep her body so well even after become a mom of three gorgeous children??

"Explore to Inspire" Photo contest by National Geographic Channel & Canon

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL AND CANON LAUNCH ASIA-WIDE EXPLORE TO INSPIRE PHOTO CONTEST

Since I am into photography (a lot) I gotta share this contest with you guys especially when it has awesome prizes. Now I just wonder in Nikon users can join this contest as the grand prize is really really attractive!! First place wins a Canon EOS DSLR, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend a National Geographic Photography Workshop in U.S.
 

National Geographic Channel and Canon today launched the Explore To Inspire Photo Contest, an Asia-wide search for Asia’s top photographers.

Held in celebration of National Geographic’s 125th anniversary, the two-month-long contest is open to all aspiring young photographers, aged 18 and above, residing in Malaysia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand or Vietnam.

To enter the competition, participants are required to submit an original photograph(s) that must showcase what inspires the participants to explore. Each entry must also be accompanied by a description or an explanation (not exceeding 300 characters) of why the image inspires the participant to explore. All entries are to be submitted via the website www.exploretoinspire.com.

The winning photographer will be presented with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III (body), and an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the prestigious National Geographic Weekend Photography Workshop in San Francisco where they will hone their photography skills with one of the renowned National Geographic photographers from the United States.

In addition, the first and second runners-up will receive a Canon EOS 6D (body) and a Canon EOS 70D (body) respectively. Reflecting both National Geographic and Canon’s objective of nurturing the photographic talent in everyone, these prizes have been carefully selected to provide budding photographers with top-end photography tools aimed at further developing both their interest and skills.

A panel of experts from both National Geographic Channel and Canon will determine the winners. The top three photographs from the contest will also be featured in the March 2014 copy of National Geographic’s Asia Edition.

“There is growing interest in photography in South and Southeast Asia and this contest is a great platform for all budding photographers to showcase their work. In line with Canon’s aim to promote the Photography Culture in the Southeast Asia region, we are pleased to work with National Geographic Channel to offer such great opportunities for the winners to further develop their love of photography,” said Mr Hideaki Nishimura, Senior Director & General Manager, Regional ICP Sales and Marketing Division, Canon Singapore Pte Ltd.

“The theme of exploration is synonymous with the National Geographic Channel and viewers are continuously inspired by our award-winning documentaries of some of the most outstanding landscapes in the world. We are delighted to once again partner Canon in the quest to find truly inspired images from photography enthusiasts,” said Mr Simeon Dawes, Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales & Partnerships Asia Pacific and Middle East at FOX One Stop Media.

George Benson Live in KL 2013 @ KLCC Beautifully performed like nothing's gonna change

George Benson considered as one of the music legend that I don't really know but I will never forget his awesome song called "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You". It is really my honour to be able to capture George's precious moment during his Inspiration Music Tour to Malaysia @ KLCC. The concert was organised by JS Concert and there were VIPs  and the Royals attending this concert as well. Although the Plenary hall in KLCC was dark, the spotlights never fail to make George shine on the stage =) The tricky part is to snap photos of the crowd who enjoying his music =)

I am glad I saw some excited audience stood up and dancing along with George's beautiful voice and I managed to capture their moments enjoying the show. All right below are some of the photos I've selected to share with you all. Hopefully you will like it!

SONY NEX-5T Review and Price in Malaysia

Remember last week I had a chance to get hands on with Sony new cameras during Sony New Camera Launch 2013 featuring NEX-5T, QX10/QX100, Action Cam, A3000 and Music Video Cam?? Courtesy of Sony Malaysia I had a chance to review a brand new Sony NEX-5T as well. That's really cool you know? Especially when you love photography =DD

If you are looking for a light weight smart camera that can share photos to smartphone/PC with just a few steps. Sony NEX-5T is a very good camera for immediate update especially on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) as the Wi-Fi and NFC is all built in in one same body; If you like to take self photos (selfie), the flippable screen on NEX-5T is very convenient for you to find the right angel and pose to match with the background as well and take awesome selfies! I am gonna share some photos with you soon =)

Okie so today I am gonna share what I think about Sony Cyber-shot NEX-5T after used it for around a week. I brought it to a few events and travel so hope you will enjoy reading my review below:

PS: Some photos went through basic crop only, and collage together to save space on this post. Watermark was added as well =) However, technology nowadays is so easy to use (Picasa3/Instagram) to increase the contrast/concentration/filter to make your picture looks even more awesome.
