Street Photography with Olympus @ Pudu Raya - Sri Mahamariamman Temple

Flowers necklace selling outside of Sri Mahamariamman Temple, Kuala Lumpur

After visiting Guan Ti Miao 廣肇會館關帝廟, Robin from Olympus Malaysia brought us to this Indian Temple named Sri Mahamariamman Temple. The people were friendly so I started to take photo after I took off my shoes passing it to this man.

The Shoes Man @ Sri Mahamariamman Temple
Because the sun was shinning straight to the floor, it somehow become a huge reflector to shine on him and got the image above. I love how his eyes turn out =)

The confident man

Oh ya, before we enter the Indian Temple, I asked Robin how he approach stranger for a photo. Basically he said he just approach one directly as long he is interested to capture his image. Of course, greet with a smile does help increase success rate =) So immediately I approach the guy above and ask him to fold his arm and to show his coolest look. Did I nail it? I don't think so but that's the moment I start to take more photos of the strangers I met.

Huge lens attached to the Olympus Body. What lens is that?

Two guy talking about the locks he just bought

They agree to let their photo taken =)

God Statue in Sri Mahamariamman Temple
"The Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the oldest and richest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded in 1873, it is situated at edge of Chinatown in Jalan Bandar (formerly High Street). In 1968, a new structure was built, featuring the ornate 'Raja Gopuram' tower in the style of South Indian temples.
From its inception, the temple provided an important place of worship for early Indian immigrants and is now an important cultural and national heritage."

Jackie Loi
Anna and Jackie are two friends that I know through blogging. It was great to see them in this Olympus Street Photography outing especially Jackie who recommended me the Olympus OM-D E-M1. Above two photos were taken using a different lens - 25mm F1.8. I love how Olympus camera allows me to shoot so near to a subject, not like my Nikon DSLR who need at least 30cm distance from the subject ;p *no macro lens with me*

Robin with his 9mm Fish Eye lens helping us take group photo. We took a selfie too.
For more photos taken using Olympus System using different lenses, you can just visit Robin's blog for more awesome photos. Ah~ How I miss the light weigh E-M1... Does anyone want to do photoshoot with me so I can raise money for one? HAHAHA!!
