12 Things To Do In Udo Island, Jeju-do

Things To Do In Udo Island, Jeju-do

Udo ( also called U-island), a small island located at the eastern coast of Jeju Island. Udo Island was named because it resembles a lying cow. It boasts fertile soil, abundant schools of fish, and scenic sights; local heritages (female divers, stone walls, and stone tombs) as well as natural attractions abound on the island, making it a miniature of Jeju Island. The island is also full of amenities and tourism outlets: fishing, bike trails, sand massages, submarine tours and cruises.

Seobin Baeksa (a white beach designated Natural Monument No. 438) has appeared regularly in films and TV commercials thanks to its breathtaking white sand and emerald sea. The sea around the beach showcases different colors depending on the water level. This makes Seobin Baeksa one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jeju-do, along with Hallasan Mountain. Standing on Udobong Peak (132.5m), the highest spot on the island, is a lighthouse surrounded by a spacious park. The peak offers outstanding overlooks of the island at a glance.

Below are things to do in Udo Island and you will definitely love this place if you love nature scenery including the beach and sea!

Maxis Kongsi Home Project with EPIC Homes - An Initiative To Build Homes For The Less Fortunate

Johnson-Oei, CEO/Founder of EPIC Homes (3rd from left), Sulin Lau, Maxis’ Head of Marketing Services (centre), together with Mr Handa from Rakuten Malaysia (far left), Miki Ong, Head of Affiliate Marketing, Gem Five (2nd from left), Andrew Gnananatham, CMO, Lazada Malaysia (3rd from right), Marcus Chan, Marketing Manager, HappyFresh (2nd from right) and Lee Sue Ann, Partnership Manager, Zalora (far right), at the press conference earlier today.
It is always good to see brands doing something good during the festive season. Instead of the normal crowdfund campaign, Maxis has partnered up with top ecommerce sites including Lazada, Zalora, Gem Five, Rakuten and HappyFresh to crowdfund new houses for Malaysian families in need through e-Commerce shopping and e-Giving. Since this is for a great cause, you now have more reason to shop and donate RM8 angpow to help the needy at the same time.

To Kongsi-a-Home, online shoppers just add RM8 worth of building materials to your shopping cart, and this will be donated to community home-building projects by EPIC Homes. If 5% of Malaysian online shoppers donate just RM8, the Kongsi Home project will be able to crowdfund 50 new home-building projects by EPIC Homes. That's how powerful the internet users in Malaysia can do as a team.

If you want to shop from ZALORA, here's a special ZALORA discount code (ZBAPX8H) for 15% discount on your total purchase. This give you a better reason to include at least one RM8 donation pack to your shopping cart right? Or, you can use Shopback to get up to 30% cash back from Zalora, Lazada, and many more merchants for yourself and trust me, not only you are saving money, you are saving time from getting stuck in the traffic just because you want to go and buy some grocery or new outfit for this Chinese New Year.

I went to Tesco to shop for CNY goods last weekend and it was really crowded especially when you need to pay your stuff at the crowded counter. Therefore online shopping is definitely a good way to safe you from trouble yo.

[Photowalk] Thaipusam Festival at Batu Caves Malaysia 2016

Last year was my first time to pay a visit to Batu Caves for Thaipusam Festival thanks to Robin Wong and friends. This year, I went to Batu Caves again with Raymond and girlfriend since this will be her first time seeing the festival in real time. This time we drove and parked our car near one of the petrol station in Batu Caves area. Reached around 6.31 am  and started shooting around the river since the preparation for Thaipusam started there. Noted they have renovated the shower area with proper marble stone but kinda block views for photographers.

When compared to last year Thaipusam Festival, I find that less crowded this time. Maybe because I came at a different timing and it was easier to climb uphill to reach the top too. Instead of having multiple post about Thaipusam, I am going to finalize the photos and frame them in Instagram square size. Hope you like the Thaipusam photos that I captured at Batu Caves below:

Singapore Film Festival 2016 @ GSC Pavilion KL - '7 Letters' Gala Premiere

Since I've finish process the event photos taken during Singapore Film Festival 2016 @ GSC Pavilion KL I might as well use some photos to write a blog post on this rainy Friday night. Thanks Golden Screen Cinema for having me again in capturing the precious moments of a series of film festival events. It was a good chance to experience the difference in Japan, Europe, and now Singapore Film Festival too.

This time there is another photography team working at the same time hence I've make use of their studio flash to add in additional light at the photo booth. No harsh shadows for invited guests, yay =D Nice to meet you Chin Aik from Blink Eyes Production and George JS Gill photographer

7 Letters Official Trailer

I've watched '7 LETTERS' and my favourite shorts are Jack Neo's 'That Girl', Royston Tan 陈子谦's 'Bunga Sayang' and Kelvin Tong's 'Grandma Positioning System'. Most of the stories will get Malaysian to feel related to since it has many scenes filmed in our country. Some of the short films are really artistic that I didn't fully understand it (maybe my arts-knowledge level not power enough) but I do recommend you guys to watch it if you love short stories being told in an artistic direction.

As usual, below are some events photos I would like to share with you guys since I am a tad lazy to update my photography website yet. If you need event/wedding photographer, do contact/PM me for more details ya =)

OLABOLA - A Movie Not Just About Football But... #OlaBola

OLABOLA - A Movie Not Just About Football But Differences & Unity
OLABOLA - A Movie Not Just About Football But Differences and Unity

This morning I went to Berjaya Time Square GSC Maxx for OLABOLA Special Media Screening courtesy of Astro. The traffic jam was really bad but I am glad I make it on time. With the success of the movie 《一路有你 The Journey》, I did put high expectation for OlaBola movie this time. Let's watch the movie trailer first to have an idea of the story line??

OLABOLA - Official Trailer 28 January 2016

Olabola Synopsis
"Marianne, a young professional, is disillusioned with her working life in Malaysia. Feeling she has had enough, she prepares to leave for England‘s greener pastures. But her one final assignment leads her to discover a story so amazing, it literally changes her life.

It is a story set in the 1980s during tumultuous economic times, about an unlikely team of footballers whose disagreements have left them with a streak of embarrassing losses. Personal issues have caused each of them to crack under pressure while the team slowly falls apart. They have only one chance left for international glory, and this multicultural team has to find it in their hearts to overcome their individual odds and unite for the sake of an entire country. But unknown to them, their greatest test is yet to come, one that will make or break their fighting spirit and the nation’s hopes and aspirations.

At once a powerful lesson from the past and a hopeful missive for the future, OlaBola, a fictional tale based on true events, invites us to celebrate our differences and unite as a nation with a collective goal. This poignant zero-to-hero story reminds us that there is beauty in our diversity and strength in our unity. And like Marianne, we might just find our reason to persevere and fight for our dreams here within this beautiful country called Malaysia."

6 Primary Features of Nikon D5

6 Primary Features of Nikon D5

6 Primary Features of Nikon D5

Yesterday Nikon has announced the new Nikon D5, Nikon KeyMission 360 and SnapBridge. As a user of Nikon camera (currently still using D800), I shall share with you some of the main features of the Nikon D5. Based on what I've read, the D5 has so much more autofocus points now with cross-type sensors. I guess that means it can focus more accurately and suitable for continuous shots like sport car, motor racing, gymnastic, football and some other extreme sport. From what I've read, it seems like Nikon D5 is more suitable for professional photographers who love to shoot sports and some low light photography especially in wild-life category.

Since my ideal new camera is to go as lighter and smaller as it can, yet not neglecting the quality of images, I don't think that I would carry this 1.4kg camera around especially when I am travelling. Another reason not to go for this yet, the Nikon D5 is selling at USD $6,500 for the body only. After converted to the weak MYR currency, it does cost you a big fortune to own it.

I am glad that Nikon D5 now has the 4K video recording capability. That means you gonna need a bigger HDD to store all the videos in near future haha! Below are the 6 main features of Nikon D5 if you thinking of upgrading from your D4/D4s series:

Melody x Azmie | Dancing In The City #SkyArtsPro

Melody x Azmie | Dancing In The City
Melody x Azmie | Dancing In The City

I still remember it was a random photography outing in September that I got myself into. Gary has been planning this with Melody for months and I was like "okay let's just go there kacau to shoot something different".  I brought along girlfriend to the shoot in KL and the first location was at the parking lot near Pavilion KL. Gary was doing his 'Architecture x Dance' 4th Series featuring Melody and Azmie while I just shooting from the side warming up myself. I was trying to capture something like Gary did but after looking back at the photo series, it seems like I tends to capture more on those candid moments happened between the really-not-easy-dance posing shots.

Gotta say thanks to Melody Tee and Azmie Zanal Abdden for thinking all sorts of dance moves and poses while we composite the photos. I gotta say it was definitely not easy to do all those poses and hold it for as long as they can. I can really feel the passion of them towards dancing and glad that they are doing what they love =)

It was actually the first time I met Melody and Azmie and I barely know them haha. Anyhow, I do hope you guys like what I've captured the other day. The elegance in dance, and the happiness and laughter found during the photoshoot. Presenting you: Melody x Azmie Dancing In The City
