The 19th edition of Le French Festival announced its line-up for 2020: Performances and events to be savoured directly from France! (L-R) Ms. Julie Loffi, Coordinator of Le French Festival; Ms. Shirley Low, Chief Marketing Officer of Golden Screen Cinemas; H. E. Frederic Laplanche,  Ambassador of France to Malaysia; Mr Roger Kasparian, a renowned mid-sixties French photographer whose artwork will be featured in an exhibition with LFF 2020 and Mr. Jacques Bounin, Director of Alliance Francaise photographed together at the press conference of Le French Festival 2020.

The French Festival is back again, as Malaysia’s highly-anticipated and largest annual French event returns with its 19th edition of Le French Festival (LFF)! From 19 March – 26 April, LFF is set to bring Malaysians on a journey of delight in all things French including French cinema screenings, art exhibitions, music and theatre performances, gastronomy and more.

Since its inception in 2001, LFF has progressively evolved to be the main connection of cultural exchange between France and Malaysia while successfully establishing its roots in four major cities, reaching over tens of thousands of spectators: Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu.

AURUM THEATRE @ MID VALLEY SOUTHKEY, JOHOR BAHRU

AURUM THEATRE, heard of it yet? It is the new experience that you can try if you love luxurious feel by doing more than just watching a movie. I would recommend you this, if you want to pamper yourself with the love one. It's something like 'Dinner In The Sky' but in a cinema hall with very comfortable recliner instead, plus some fine-dine food and drinks without hanging in the sky. Come on and have a look what I saw at the Aurum Theatre in Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru. Watch the video below for a quick tour of the Getha Lux Suite movie hall and something that worth a shout out at the Aurum Theatre, especially the Getha recliner with wireless charging and port for your gadget.

How much is it to watch a movie in Aurum Theatre? 

Watching movie at Aurum Theatre and enjoy a meal or cocktail at Jin Gastrobar will cost you RM120 - RM150 for an Aurum Pass. You'll get to choose a fine-dining selection or cocktail from a menu list. More information is available on GSC Website.

Japanese Film Festival 2019 @ GSC Malaysia 5 Sep 2019 - 6 Oct 2019

The annual Japanese Film Festival (JFF) turns “16” this year and is set to light up selected Golden Screen Cinemas nationwide, boasting a broad collection of current and acclaimed titles across a variety of genres ranging from family to music and comedy. The selection of 13 movies will capture hearts and minds of audiences from all ages and giving the opportunity for everyone to enjoy the latest and finest Japanese movies on the big screen.

The month-long celebration will be kicking off with the South East Asian premiere of “Little Nights, Little Love” directed by IMAIZUMI Rikiya on JFF KL Opening night on 3 September 2019. (official Japan release date 20 September 2019)

Hungarian 2019 Film Fiesta 2.0 (Hungarian Film Festival 2019) at GSC Pavilion KL was successfully held on 20th June 2019. As usual, I would like to share some photos taken that evening. Always love the fun people who are ready for some fun portrait.

GSC Vietnamese Film Festival 2018 Launch Pavilion KL #GSCVFF18

A journey to Vietnam through films! Golden Screen Cinemas is hosting inaugural Vietnamese Film Festival from 23-29 August 2018 in Malaysia and I was there to capture precious moments of the launch taken place at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur last week.

Ms. Koh Mei Lee (Chief Executive Officer, Golden Screen Cinemas) dressed up in a gorgeous yellow dress, Mr Nguyen Anh Duc (Political-Counsellor of Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam) and his family also dressed up in the colorful cultural costume. Super Saigon provided local Vienamese food and it was great =) Not forgetting the Saigon Beer and red wines.

From 23-29 August 2018, you can sit back, relax, and join Golden Screen Cinemas on a trip this August to discover Vietnam like you've never seen it before. Launching on 14 August 2018 at GSC Pavilion KL and taking place over a week from 23 to 29 August 2018, in conjunction with the upcoming Vietnamese Independence Day on 2 September, the Vietnamese Film Festival is a cinematic event wholly-organized by the GSC Group of Companies, in partnership with Galaxy Studio in Vietnam.

As promised, if this YouTube video reach 50 likes within a day, I am posting more photos taken at IOI City Mall. #BrotherOfTheYear VIPs including Director Witthaya Thongyuyong (also known as Vithaya Thongyooyong),  Nichkhun Horvejkul (Nichkhun), Sunny Suwanmethanont (Sunny) and Urassaya Sperbund (Yaya). They have arrived at Malaysia few days back to promote the movie #BrotherOfTheYearinMY.

The event held at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya was free admission and fans already start gathered at the main stage area since early. I wonder they were here for Sunny, Yaya, Nichkhun or Director Witthaya? Before BOTY stars arrived, emcee Jacky from XUAN did a game to choose 6 lucky audience for a chance to interact with the casts. Besides that, there were 10 lucky winners who won the contest and got the group photography session with Yaya, Sunny, Nichkhun and Director Witthaya.

Hungarian Film Fiesta 2018 had taken place at GSC Pavilion KL from 7 to 10 June. If you are a football fans you would definitely love their free screening. Courtesy of the Embassy of Hungary in Kuala Lumpur, four titles were screened for free at the film fiesta, which are “Puskás Hungary“, “Barca’s Untold Legends”, “Brazils” and “6:3 AKA Past Plays Itself”.

All four movies were being screened in their original Hungarian language, accompanied by English subtitles. You may read more at CinemaOnline.

Le French Festival 2018 Launching at GSC Pavilion KL, Malaysia

It is another year of Le French Festival 2018 (French Film Festival 2018) at GSC Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and I am honored to shoot for this event. Love the activities that the Embassy of France and the Alliance Française in Malaysia have organized this year as I had a taste of Bagad de Lann Bihoué pipe bands who performed right at the front of Pavilion KL.

Courtest of GSC Malaysia, I was shooting for Le French Festival 2018 Launching and watched a fun movie C'est la vie! / Le Sens de la fête showcased in the cinema. Nicely decorated food by PAUL Pavilion KL and drinks by Martell. Not forget to mention the happy guests that was easy to photograph. I love their smile!

The Czech Republic Film Festival 2018 #CRFF2018 took place at GSC Pavilion KL and GSC Mid Valley from 22 to 25 March. The inaugural ceremony, followed by the screening of 2017 movie of 'Barefoot', was held on March 21st, 2018, with the presence of the Minister in Prime Minister´s Department, Datuk Joseph Kurup. The tickets for all the festival´s movies were fully redeemed even before the Festival started. 

2nd Czech Film Festival 2018 Movie Trailers

A total of five award-winning movies have been selected for the film festival: “Adela Has Not Had Supper Yet”, “Barefoot”, “Kooky”, “Angel of the Lord 2” and “The Seven Ravens”. The movies of Czech Republic Film Festival 2018 was screened for free.
