Couple Visit to Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge Visitor's Centre + IceCream

Petronas Twin Towers Sky Bridge Visitor Center
It's been a while since me and girlfriend hang out together on a weekend so we planned to visit KLCC PETRONAS Twin Towers for the Skybridge and the Observation Deck. As a proud Malaysian, we all should really visit PETRONAS Twin Towers at least once in a life time because it is one of the landmark that most travelers would like to drop by.

However, as a Malaysian with MyKad you can get access to the top of one of the tallest building in the world at just RM25 (Adult) /RM12 (Child)!!

Get to PETRONAS Twin Tower Visitor Centre early in the day as tickets are selling fast!
If you don't want to get disappointed, make sure you drop by PETRONAS Twin Tower early in the morning to get your tickets as when I reach there in the afternoon, most of the tickets were already sold out and only left the night session ... So here's a lesson learned, I shall come here earlier next time to avoid disappointment~ Anyhow, you can still buy advance tickets prior to your next visit.

I am waiting for their online ticketing service to be available soon in January 2013 (According to PETRONAS Twin Tower's FB Update) as that will ease my life! This will be a very great news for travelers around the world too~

Interactive walls at the PETRONAS Twin Towers Visitor Centre

Since we couldn't get the tickets in time, we decided just to walk around and find what's interesting within the visitor center.  There were several interactive walls that you can play around to spend your time and at the same time learn the some facts about PETRONAS Twin Towers and some games as well.

A picture with the tall PETRONAS Twin Towers miniature!

"Soaring to a height of 451.9 metres, the 88-storey twin structure is Kuala Lumpur's crown jewel. Majestic by day and dazzling at night, the PETRONAS Twin Towers is inspired by Tun Mahathir Mohamad's vision for Malaysia to be a global player. Together with master architect Cesar Pelli, the international icon powerfully captures the nation's ambitions and aspirations."

Saw a guy playing with this huge screen!

Immediately just right beside the queue, something caught my attention. I saw a guy standing in front of a huge screen waving and moving his arms vigorously. At first we thought he was playing with his shadow on the screen. It was then I realized IT WAS A HUGE INTERACTIVE WALL! It had this amazing display that has the combination of liquid and solid elements across the screen. I think it was using the kinect sensor to let us control the movement. As a curious guy here,  I went to try it out without hesitation haha.

Must thank to this guy named Geoffrey who was there to explain to us how to play with the interactive wall. Here's how to play with it:

Basically, there are Liquid and metal elements on the screen that move according to the direction you move your arms (or legs as we've tried). When the two elements clash/combine with each other, a short animation comes on. If you are successful at the mixing step, you will see a mercury-like swirl and what emerges out of it is one of 5 things: mechanic heart, diamond grille, piston, shark, and headlights.

The point of the game is to find a partner to help push the elements on the other side of the screen to the center. It was interesting to see how different pairs attempted to merge the two elements together, and the different results they produced. So I've decided to record it down and try to get all the 5 different animation! *mission mode on*

Here's us trying to create the best mixture of liquid and metal!

We spent quite a lot of our time trying to get all 5 different animation. As far as I remember, we manage to get mechanic heart, diamond grille, piston, and a lot of shark's animation. It was hard to get the headlights =( Anyhow, here's a video that we've recorded, check out how we did it!

Petronas Twin Towers Visitor's Center Interactive wall: LIQUID AND METAL

If you want to try this out and happen to be at KLCC, you better check out this sophisticated visual presentation of science and art at:

Venue: Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge Visitor’s Center (from the Petronas Twin Towers, you can either go to the left or right and go down one level and tadahhh, the amazing wall is there for you to have fun)
Date: Today until 18th January 2013 (hurry or you'll regret ;p)
Operating hours:  9:00am – 7:00pm (TBC)

Lastly, thanks to Geoffrey and his friends who guided us to play with the interactive wall. In my personal opinion, it was really fun as you need two person's effort to let the liquid and metal combine to create an amazing visual.
