I believe every love birds love travel to somewhere relaxing and pamper themselves. So do I. Melaka is my hometown but I never know there is one luxury  and huge resort which made of pine log hidden at Ayer Keroh until today. Philea Resort and Spa, Ayer Keroh is easily accessed when you come out from Ayer Keroh Toll, it is 30 minutes away from Melaka Town. I highly recommend you to have your own transport if you want to travel to town for some good street foods at Jonker Street or go to the infamous heritage area - Stadthuys (Red Square). You may wanna travel to the Butterfly Farm which is nearer to the hotel too.

Throughout the trip in Philea Resort and Spa, I would like to say this place is more suitable for family/couple tourist instead of business traveller. Although complementary WiFi was provided, the WiFi signal is not strong enough although you stay nearby the lobby area. Other than that, Philea Resort has a fascinating waterfall and swimming pool incorporated together for your outdoor activity. We had some fun activities inside the pool and I will share it in my next post (including a mini birthday bash).

Philea Resort and Spa Layout Plan

There are three types of room available at Philea Resort and Spa - Pavilion Room, Philea Suite and Royal Villa. If you are a couple going there for honeymoon, I recommend you to stay at Philea Suite (single floor and more private) as 4 Pavilion Rooms will combined as one villa which has 2 storeys. The sound proof is not that great for Pavilion Room especially if there are family with kids staying in the same block.

Four pavilion rooms forming the double storeys Pavilion Villa and the whole building is made up of pine log. Once you entered the room, you will able to smell the wooden scent within the room. There are two single beds inside the room, it is air-conditioned and have a fan as well. Got TV, fridge and kettle to boil water for coffee/tea.

They have decorated the room with a pair of towel-folded swans and rose petals on the beds and bath tub as well. Kindly scroll down for hotel room's photo:

The toilet doors are made of wood and I find it challenging to open/lock it properly. A complete collection of toilet amenities were placed under the basin and I find it might be hard for elderly to squat down and grab the thing they need. Other than that, the toilet is good as it has hair dryer and large mirror for your grooming purpose. Enjoy your personal time in the bath tub which full of rose petals.

There is a dining table placed right outside of the room and we had our fine dining there. It was a surprise to see lovely deco with our name on it and I would like to thumbs up for that.

A nice waterfall linked river at the center of Philea Resort

There's a restaurant named 'Bayu Cabana' located right beside this river. We had a birthday bash tea time at the restaurant. The mee mamak and mee goreng tasted really good as they prepared it on the spot. Will share more about it in my next post.

Here's the view of the swimming pool with waterfall wall at one corner.

The swimming pool looks quite mesmerizing with the waterfall forming the flowing river. You can enjoy sun bathing at the pool side or play board games inside the hut while listening to the waterfall melody. The base of the swimming pool is formed of stones and you can feel the uneven floor with your feet. Maybe you can consider this as part of your foot massage?? I still prefer flat floor in a pool =)

Since the day is still early, we then walk around the resort to explore the whole area. As shown on the layout map earlier in this post, the resort is kinda huge and it will be more quiet if you walk further inside. Luckily buggy service is provided if you don't want to walk all the way to the restaurant/pub.

Gym Room @ Philea Resort

There is a gym room located right after passing the spa area. Simple but complete gym equipment available in the gym room. It is air conditioned and there is a toilet available in the room. Oh yeah, towels available too.

We passed by the Royal Villa which were gated and there is this 'I love you' wording that can be seen on the open area. It will be illuminated with white lights at night and I guess guy can propose here?

Before dinner, we had a chance to explore the Royal Villa after had some finger food and drinks at the pool side. The Royal Villa is really spacious as it has a private pool, 2 king size beds, 2 single beds and 4 LCD TVs. This Royal Villa will able to fit up to 6 guests. Philea Suite is the suite that suitable for couple. The main attraction of this suite is the classic bath tub which placed right in the middle of the shower room and you can enjoy watching TV show while dipping inside the bath tub. Well, I didn't stay in this suite but you can imagine the romantic things you may do inside this suite hahaha!

It was suppose to be a candle light fine dining session but that night wind were blowing strong throughout the whole night. Hence we used our handphone to illuminate the food so that we can see how it looks like before we eat them haha. The food overall layout was great, tasted not bad but I think the desserts overcast the main course. Four pieces of desserts versus the shared main dish, of course desserts win.

After dinner, we went to the ChillOut Bar located right below the reception area, there is a DJ console inside the bar and you may order drink from the bar right at the center. Since it was smoky and dark inside the bar, some of us decided to sit outside and chit-chat with friends. Hopefully in future they have better air ventilation inside the ChillOut Bar.

ChillOut Bar is a good place to hang out if you don't plan to sleep early. I prefer to sit outside as it smell much better and easier to talk to my friends. I had a great chat with buddies that night and hopefully we all can travel together again =D

Tropic Lounges - A corner that serve you fresh fruit juice

At Tropic Lounges, you can order fresh fruit juices from the bar where they pick the fruits displayed right beside you. Other than that, you can order coffee and enjoy a slice of cake for best combination.

Overall experience at Philea Resort and Spa Ayer Keroh, Melaka

Since I need to go back KL early the next morning, we went back to our room after saying good bye. In case you forgot how our room looks like, just scroll back up for it. The bed was soft but I didn't get to sleep well. Our room was very near to the ChillOut Bar and the music bass can be heard when you try to sleep. Hence, here's an advice: Stay further away from the Lobby/Bar area if you want to have a good night sleep. Take a buggy ride to your quite room is better than listening to unwanted noise unless you like to drink till the bar close haha. 

Luckily after midnight it went quiet back and I manage to have a good rest. Early next morning, we had quick breakfast at Nusantara Restaurant where Nasi Lemak, porridge, fried mee, and many more local delicacies were served. I was rushing back to KL and witnessed a lady smashed her head into a watermelon

Philea Resort and Spa in Ayer Keroh, Melaka is a place for couple/family to relax themselves by staying in the greenery surrounded villa and enjoy spa/massage. The pine log hotel room is unique and definitely impress you at first look. I like the waterfall inspired swimming pool area as I love water flowing's sound that sooth your feeling.

If you wanna try out the delicacies in Melaka Town, it is only 30 minutes drive and you may drop by place like Jonker Street to travel. Other than that, you can drop by Melaka Animal Zoo and Butterfly Park for nature exploration.

If you prefer a quieter room, just ask the reservation counter for it for better private own time. At least somewhere further away from the ChillOut bar =) In overall, it was a good stay at Philea Resort and Spa, Melaka.
