"Greetings from the Malaysia Lysosomal Diseases Association , My name is Lee Yee Seng , and I am writing to you on behalf of the Malaysia Lysosomal Diseases Association (MLDA) . The MLDA was formed in May 2011 and was officially launched in October 2011 by parents and supporters of patients who are afflicted by a group of rare diseases called Lysosomal Storage Diseases (LSD) . LSD is caused by an inherited genetic problem , which causes a malfunction of enzymes which function to rid the cells of waste. This then results in various other illnesses, disorders and ailments such as developmental delay, movement disorders, seizures, dementia, deafness and blindness among other things. The disease mostly affects children and they often die at a young and unpredictable age if left untreated. As part of a continuous effort to advocate and educate the pubic on the need for early intervention for children with autism, The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) in association with HBO asia, held an exclusive screening of the Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning HBO Original Movie , TEMPLE GRANDIN on 22 August at TGV KLCC. BERRYBOW, an exclusive online women's fashion boutique, has made its mark on Malaysia's fashion landscape with thr showcasing of its new Bright & Bold collection in a charity event launch on June 11 2011 @ Gardens Hotel . Admission to the event was open to the public and by ticket purchase, with 40 percent of ticket sales proceeds channeled to the Women's Aid Organisation (WAO). Each ticket was priced at RM150. On that day a total of RM8,400 was raised for WAO through this fashion charity event. In turn, the proceeds collected will be used by WAO to sustain its work in helping battered women and children lead violence-free lives.
